The Secret of the Upper Waters

“The Secret of the Upper Waters” is my personal journey into water — a journey that began with curiosity and gradually became a vision connecting Jerusalem, living water, consciousness and Tikkun Olam.

In the biblical story of Creation we encounter the mysterious “waters above” — the Upper Waters. For me, those ancient words eventually became a very contemporary question: have we forgotten something essential about our relationship with water? Is water merely H₂O — something we filter, transport and drink — or can it also teach us something deeper about life, flow and connection?

In this lecture I connect Jewish sources and the ancient water stories of Jerusalem with my own journey: from the Gihon Spring and the Siloam Tunnel, through the symbolism of water, copper and “living water,” to my search for new ways of thinking about the quality of the water we bring into our lives.

Perhaps repairing the world begins with repairing our water. And perhaps repairing our water begins in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem itself grew around a spring. Water has accompanied its human and spiritual story for thousands of years. I invite the audience on a journey between science and spirit, ancient wisdom and new ideas, what we know and what we are still brave enough to question.

This is not simply a lecture about water. It is a lecture about memory, Jerusalem, hope — and the possibility that a very big Tikkun can begin with a single drop.
